On August 20 NYX Professional Makeup celebrated The Fine Artistry of Cosmetic Elites (FACE)  Awards as it named Laura Sanchez the “Beauty Vlogger of the Year” at the Novo, Los Angeles. The ceremony, hosted by YouTube star Kandee Johnson, featured performances by Beyoncé’s proteges Chloe X Halle and RuPaul’s Drag Race star Alyssa Edwards. The show was streamed live at nyxfaceawards.com and on the official NYX YouTube channel.

Internationally recognized vlogger Laura Sanchez received Beauty Vlogger of the Year Award and $50,000 prize during the real-time competition that took place later that day.

In addition to winning $50,000, the “Beauty Vlogger of the Year” also received consultations with professional makeup artists, a year’s supply of NYX Cosmetics, and the opportunity to kick-start a professional career in makeup artistry. The five runner-ups Alexa Poletti, Brianna Fox, Haley Wight, Pompberry and Kristi (RawBeautyKristi) each received $15,000.

The finalists revealed their challenge videos before a live audience and panel of top beauty industry judges, including Academy-Award winning professional makeup artist Ve Neill; Editor-in-chief of NYLON, Melissa Giannini; Beauty Director of Refinery29, Megan McIntyre; and YouTube sensation, Ingrid Nilsen. YouTube star and makeup artist Charismastar, the very first NYX FACE Awards winner in 2012, returned as the show’s emcee.

“This is the biggest event of the year for makeup”, – said top beauty influencer and 2015 NYX FACE Awards Beauty Vlogger of the Year Mykie (Glam & Gore).  “I started doing my make up when I was 8 and it turned to a job and passion. Somehow here I am today! I love to wear red lipstick, neutrals and black. My advice to all makeup artists is to do something you are not good at every day. The more you do something you are not good at, eventually it will become second nature, and it won’t be a challenge for you anymore”, – she advised all inspiring makeup artists.

“It takes a lot of practice to have a perfect makeup,” –revealed famous beauty influencer Patrick Starr. “My favorite part about NYX Cosmetics is that it brings millions of people together. It brings a passion for makeup in one room, in one competition, and it is all about unity, diversity and, of course, about makeup”, – said Patrick about the show.

The numerous red carpets located on different floors and NYX beauty school experience gave all the attendees the opportunity to truly enjoy the unique atmosphere of makeup industry and beauty community celebration.

The sponsors included: Redken, Target, LuLu*s, Lola Shoetique, The Body Shop, Clarisonic, Eva Hair NYC and Van’s, to name a few.
