PopImpressKA Brings Color and Light to New York Fashion Week

Olga Papkovitch unveiled her PopImpressKA Fall/Winter ’16 Collection last night at Style Fashion Week at Gotham Hall, New York. The classy, elegant and fiercely spirited collection, pulsating with rich colors brought warmth to a cold New York Winter’s night. PopImpressKA’s new collection ‘Fields of Color’ consisted of Olga’s paintings printed onto silk fabric, creating a walking canvas with nature inspired art vogue. With silk fabrics gliding down the runway, her collection presented sophistication and grace.

The bustling crowd was simply captivated by the mesmerizing designs and colors. Malena Belafonte, Lead Model Coordinator of Style Fashion Week and guest model in the PopImpressKa show said, “When I met Olga from PopImpressKA, I was taken by her eagerness to learn and listen. She is an artist, an amazing artist and she is so incredibly kind!” Olga brought her personality to the runway with equal parts artistry and grace. With a vibrant runway and full crowd, PopImpressKa did not disappoint.

The newest collection “Light to Dark” is a take on a woman that starts with soft and feminine looks. The materials are light weight neoprene, muted colors, and romantic lace. New York, NY February 8, 2016 – Style Fashion Week (@stylefw) presented by Morgan Stanley continues to drive New York Fashion Week to another level of sophistication and class at the beautiful Gotham Hall.

 

An amazing set of designers will grace the runway for this season’s New York Style Fashion Week as they debut their 2016 / 2017 Fall Winter Collections. Style Fashion Week opens “Official New York Fashion Week” February 11th with a mega event of fashion, art, and music –showcasing international designers, 25,000 plus guest attendees, celebrities, buyers, press, and fashion industry leaders. Style Fashion Week

NY will definitely be this season’s choice for the fashion elite, especially after being ranked among the Top 5 most beautiful productions last season. The Style Fashion Week Team in association with the Eleanor Lambert Foundation will be providing all guests and attendees a glamorous, prodigious, and one of a kind experience with unique runway shows, designer presentations, and a special Yumi Katsura installation.

 

Fashion Group International (FGI) Rising Star Winner, Malan Breton will open the week with his Fall/Winter 2016 collection: “Gotham Disco Dollies”, a homage to Studio 54 and the glam rock era of the 1970’s. Malan Breton has recently been featured in Vogue, Elle, Vanity Fair and numerous publications worldwide. Former Oscar De La Renta Designer Raul Penaranda, along with PopImpressKA, Ev Bessar from Russia, House of Perna winner of Project Runway, and Nina Gleyzer will all be showcasing in the Official NYFW venue opening night. The evening concludes with the Official New York Fashion Week Press Party which encourages press, media, stylists, buyers, designers, and the industry’s elite from around the world to “Come with Style and a Smile!”

 

Just Drew by Andrew Warren, grandson of fashion tycoon David Warren, will hit the runway to showcase their “It Girl” collection with Kyra Kennedy, Tiffany Trump, Gaia Matisse, Eliza Johnson, Reya Benitez, Billie Lourd, Dani Lauder and Abigail Breslin walking the runway in their incredible designs.

 

Control Sector will showcase the men and women’s Street Wear collection “The End”, while Bradelis Lingerie will showcase their SS’16 Collection which will be available the day after the show at their globally recognized stores. Nancy Vuu, Bentley & Lace and Janay Deann will also be on the runway with their Children’s Luxury Wear, as well Anthony Rubio with his new Women’s Ready-to-Wear collection and Doggy Couture. Joan Marentis Kelly will be there in house at Gotham Hall for a Special 4 Hour Presentation of Cosmik Souls Handcrafted Jewelry ! Shalini Ahuja from India. David Tupaz and the long time established well known designer Farah Angsana will close this season at Gotham Hall with the showing of their latest Fall / Winter 2016 – 2017 Collections … bringing even more international coverage, buyers, and celebrities to the highly anticipated runway shows.

 

Nasa partner, Slooh, the most popular live feed global network of observatories will launch their #ShadeUp campaign during Style Fashion Week. In preparation for the upcoming total Solar Eclipse on March 8th, #ShadeUp encourages fans of astronomy and fashion alike to post photos of themselves wearing sunglasses on Instagram and Twitter to promote Slooh’s live coverage of the total solar eclipse. Slooh enables people to explore the universe together through its global network of telescopes. Slooh’s observatories are situated all over the world. Founded by Michael Paolucci, a serial internet entrepreneur who founded Slooh to connect humanity through communal exploration of the universe.

Style Fashion Week has also teamed up with The City Kids foundation to celebrate their 30th anniversary supporting positive youth development and social emotional learning, providing opportunities for personal growth and artistic expression helping young people channel growth into substantial social change. In addition Style Fashion Week will display the famous Keith Haring legendary “City Kids Speak on Liberty” banner. This one-of-a-kind work of art depicts what is considered as personally Keith Haring’s most beloved images: The Statue of Liberty.

We all know Paris as the Fashion Capital, the City of Paris Fashion Week Haute Couture well known for its famous designers that constantly change the way you see the fashion. However, there is something you might not know about this legendary city. Paris is also a perfect platform for young designers all around the world. The Haute Couture Runway event organized by the producer of Luxury Fashion shows Bakana Events, a consulting company based in Paris and San Francisco was that one perfect fashion platform created to promote inspiring fashion designers from different countries.
This time the company produced a runway presentation for new collections of two internationally recognized Haute Couture designers, KATE BEE (Paris, France) and ALEX ROBE (San Sebastián, Spain).
The spectacular event included fashion shows accompanied by performances of talented French singer-guitarist and songwriter Simon Carierre and the Indian dance group Indian Ocean Agency.

Spanish designer Alex Robe presented the amazing collection called Nipona 16/17. Another talented designer Kate Bee (Paris) showed Japanese Garden Collection. The models looked stunning thanks to MUA artist Leyla Ebadi and stylist Claire Storelli.

Henry Lipatov – Master Of VFX

Gennadii Lipatov, better known by industry experts as Henry Lipatov, was born in the Soviet Union (now Russia) and has been the recipient of numerous distinguished awards in the field of the Arts.  He is also no stranger to the Latin entertainment community which have embraced him – as have others – as the ‘visual effects go-to guy’.  Henry recently won the Jury Award [2015] Best SPFX – Short Film for “A Tricky Treat” at the Macabre Faire Film Festival and in the past, has won music awards under the auspices of his distinguished bands.  Soon after his birth, Henry’s parents moved with him to the Ukraine.  At the age of 23 his career sky-rocketed into stardom the minute he stepped into the limelight as the creator and front man for the rock bands, 7EVER, KissLoveSex and NoraLasso.  At age 28, he formed a  post-production company, FameCubeProduction in the Ukraine, which swiftly triggered a sensation among the super-rich and famous given his innovative and inspirational visual effects creations.

This season Style Fashion Week will be remembered by introducing to LA one of the most talented and ambitious designers. One of them is Christina Milian with her new lineup called Pop Gang 101 for We Are Pop Culture inspired by the legendary singer/actress. The collection is all about sexy, but comfy street style jeans, jogger pants, t-shirts, sports bras and bottoms ready to wear for everyday occasion. Christina’s daughter Violet Madison Nash debuted on the runway that night. We talked to Christina about the clothing line and her successful career.

SK: Would you introduce this little princess to us?

Christina Milian: This is my daughter, tonight was her first time on the runway, as you can see she is a diva but she is tired for now.

SK: We are not going to take a lot of your time. Tonight show presented by We Are Pop Culture was all about pop culture. What does pop culture mean to you?

Christina Milian: Pop culture is what considered popular to us, you know, everybody has its own version of pop culture: music, fashion, everything. For me, pop culture is about expressing yourself, feeling confident, living your life and being happy.

SK: What’s next for you?

Christina Milian: I have two TV shows, one is called “Grandfathered” on FOX and the other one is “Christina Millian Turned Up” on E!, and they are gonna be both on Tuesdays, and also I have new music coming out, a new video with Lil Wayne called “Do it”.
