The 15th Annual Living Legends Of Aviation Awards Gala Honors Its Heroes

Hollywood, January 19, 2017

On January 19, 2018 The Living Legends of Aviation organization hosted the black-tie red carpet event to recognize its entrepreneurs. This year The Kenn Ricci Lifetime Aviation Entrepreneur Award was presented to Robert T. Bigelow, founder of Bigelow Aerospace.

Senator Jim Inhofe received the Harrison Ford Aviation Legacy Award from actor Harrison Ford.

General Jack Dailey received the Steven F. Udvar Hazy Award.

David Joyce received the Lifetime Aviation Industry Award.

Mike Silva received the Vertical Flight Hall of Fame Award.

General Jack Dailey was honored with the Steven F. Udvar Hazy Award.

The event was hosted by actor John Travolta.

Country Music artist Aaron Tippin shared some information on his performance that took place later that night: “Tonight we are gonna do  Where The Stars & Stripes & The Eagle Fly and You’ve Got to Stand for Something, two hits from me back in the 90s”, he said to HGM.  You can learn more about his music at http://www.aarontippin.com/

DJ and music producer Celeste Lear: “I am the granddaughter of William P. Lear (the founder of the Lear Jet Corporation – LK)…This is my first time attending The Legends of Aviation. Aviation and Airspace industry shapes our world every day, and the men and women that are here today are the truly visionaries.”.

Pilot Rachelle: “This is my second year attending The Legends of Aviation. My name is Rachelle, and I am one of the top female pilots in the world. It is one of the most amazing feelings to not only fly but to know that you are controlling that aircraft, and every time I go up, my heart skips a beat… It’s such an amazing feeling. I am here today for my foundation. It’s called The I Heart Flying Foundation, and I offer early scholarship opportunities to young women. So, I am trying to help increase the female pilot population which is only about five percent”.

BASE jumper Felix Baumgartner: “This is actually not my first time on the red carpet. I’ve been receiving lots of awards the last couple years, so I am familiar with the red carpet. But this is a special one because there are so many legends of aviation around here”.

 

The Living Legends of Aviation supports the Kiddie Hawk Air Academy.
