An Evening with the Mayor: Beverly Hills Experience Supported by Aston Martin Beverly Hills

Greystone Mansion, Beverly Hills, CA, October 7, 2021

It’s been a tough year for local businesses and business owners so far, but the City of Beverly Hills once again showed support and love to its community during the elegant red-carpet event that took place at the historical Greystone Mansion. All guests (most of them were business owners and community members) enjoyed complimentary hor d’oeuvres, drinks and gifts presented by the sponsors of the event Il Fornaio, buzzbox premium cocktails, AsomBroso Tequila, Morandell Imports, and Icelandic Glacial.

I was happy to chit chat with some of the business owners. Since I love art, I could highly recommend Carol Calicchio Studio. Carol is well known for her mastery of abstract florals. She lives in Florida and creates unique paintings.

I was also delighted to meet the team of Minimal, a designer brand located right in the heart of Beverly Hills. Check more about the company and its collections listed at https://www.minimalbeverlyhills.com/.

AirCarbon presented the world’s first carbon-negative straws. The company offers products made from biomaterial that is designed to replace plastic. AirCarbon is one of the companies that do a great job saving our planet.

Famous Aston Martin Beverly Hills and Watch Rapport were the biggest support of the event. Other wonderful sponsors included First Republic Bank, Waldorf Astoria, The Beverly Hilton, Valmont Cosmetics, Hills Views & Valleys, Starline Tours of Hollywood, Mr. Chow, Rochelle Atlas, Torrey Pines Bank, East West Bank, SoCal Gas, CMIT Solutions, Motev, ACS Security, Assil Eye Institute, Just in Case BH, Network Experts, Newlight Technologies Inc., Hills Views & Valleys, and Artists Creating Entertainment.

During the Night the honorable City of Beverly Hills Mayor Bob Wunderlich gave a speech recognized as the State of the City Address. He thanked all members of the community for their hard work and dedication. The Mayor provided some highlights on the City’s improvements and success stories. He introduced First Thursdays of every month for residents and guests to have fun. Beverly Hills businesses will “provide things, such as complimentary items, discounts, extended happy hours, special menus… We are relaunching a City trolley as a hop-on hop-off service connecting six stops around the City during the First Thursdays Evenings. So, look for the first Thursday starting immediately following tonight’s event and continuing the first Thursday of each month from 5 pm to 9 pm”, – said the Mayor.

In addition, Mayor Wunderlich discussed the importance of improving the quality of life of the City residents by providing access for all modes of mobility, reducing waste and fighting climate change. He informed everyone the City did its best to ensure safety and security, addressing housing challenges, reducing homelessness in the City, providing all kind of resources and much more. In overall, the Evening became a great success, connecting people and businesses.

The Beverly Hills Business Launches Its First In-person Event

On August 11th the First Bank Marina Del Rey team invited businessmen and business owners to celebrate their Grand Re-Opening Ribbon Cutting with the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce and the LAX Coastal Chamber of Commerce. The guests had a chance to learn some useful information about the bank’s services and programs. Everyone had a good time enjoying snacks and drinks provided.
The family-owned Bank has been helping families and family businesses since 1910. It serves family-owned businesses and communities.  The bank’s focus is mainly on clients’ long-term goals and expectations.  Here one can open checking and saving accounts, apply for mortgages or access business services.

LA Art Show’21 Makes History with The Masterpieces Presented

Los Angeles, CA, July 29th, 2021

No matter if you are a fan of American Art or European Art, Asian Art, Modern or Classic Art – it was something for everyone at the LA Art Show Opening Night Gala that took place on July 29th. From Andy Warhol to Pierre-Auguste Renoir, from New York to Miami galleries presenting their artists, it was everything an art lover could dream about.

I was amazed to see great works of Ukrainian, Armenian, French, Chinese, and LA-based artists. It took me about two hours to take a personal “tour” to learn more about each of the paintings presented at the exhibition. I was lucky to talk to some artists to discuss their unique style, inspiration etc.

The show took place on July 29th – August 1st     and was hosted by celebrity Rita Ora. During the Opening Night, she took the stage to present a welcome speech and discuss the charity cause of the project that benefited St Jude Children’s Research Hospital. It was probably the first biggest event since the beginning of the pandemic.

The New Flying Spur In Detail: The Most Complex BENTLEY Interior Ever

0

(Crewe, 23 January 2020) With the new Flying Spur comes the ultimate example of a handcrafted interior, presenting the world’s most sophisticated and luxuriously stitched cabin.

As all 350 unique leather pieces are adorned to 60 bespoke components using over three kilometers of thread to make up a complete Flying Spur interior, each passes through the hands of 141 Bentley craftspeople.

A minimum of five months training under Bentley’s Master Trainers is essential in order to reach the upmost levels of ability, and to learn the vast array of techniques required to craft Bentley’s interiors to the highest of standards.

All leather hides found in the interior of the Flying Spur remain sustainably sourced from Northern European bulls, entirely as by-products of the meat industry. More temperate climate zones ensure there are fewer parasites and the leather remains naturally blemish free.

Bentley customers have the luxury of choosing from as many as 14 interior leather hide colors, which can be complimented by a vast selection of 23 different colors of contrast thread.

The center piece of the Flying Spur’s interior – its steering wheel – is home to some of the most elaborate hand-stitching and leatherwork to be found anywhere in the automotive industry. A cross-stitched steering wheel involves five meters of thread being precisely passed through 352 sew holes in order to achieve 168 distinctive cross stitches. A single steering wheel is stitched in three and a half hours by a skilled Bentley craftsperson, using a bespoke pair of needles and a motion too complicated to be replicated by machine.

With the use of five separate types of sewing machine, different thicknesses of thread are applied throughout the cabin, contributing to the overall level of complexity and detail underpinning the Flying Spur’s interior. For example, stitches around airbag components are delicately applied with a thinner thread to ensure safety remains a prime consideration.

Unmatched for comfort, the four seats of the new Flying Spur require a total of 12 hours to assemble by hand. The stand-out optional detail embellishing each seat’s headrest is the embroidered Bentley wings, comprised of 5,103 individual stitches.

The cabin is finished with three-dimensional diamond quilted leather door inserts – an automotive first, inspired by the Bentley EXP 10 Speed 6 design concept.

Actress Demi Moore Shines Bright at Oscars Night

Tujunga, CA, February 9, 2020

Famous actress Demi Moore was all smiles as she attended the City Gala red carpet during the Oscars night. As everyone was celebrating the South Korean triumph of Parasite during the biggest Hollywood event, countless stars were going from one Oscar party to another to enjoy the night. This year awards season was marked by the performance of Billie Eilish, Brad Pitt’s speech and great success of Korean filmmaker Bong Joon-ho who became the first South Korean to win Oscars Best Director award and the first one to win International Film award. Now we can say it’s much more than the 38th parallel north to remember.   It reminded me how famous Soviet filmmaker Sergei Bondarchuk received the very first Oscar award about 50 years ago.

Demi was wearing an elegant black dress and beautiful earrings. She was presented Inspiration Award later that night. She discussed her new book Inside Out during the VIP dinner. Check out our video to learn more about it:

Every year, City Gala founder Ryan Long organizes special guest appearances from influential speakers that are motivated to share philanthropic viewpoints and inspirational messages. Past appearances and honorees include Halle Berry, Ashton Kutcher, Sir Richard Branson, Charlize Theron, James Cameron, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Matthew McConaughey, Quincy Jones, John Paul DeJoria and John Travolta.
